LATISM 2011

Latinos in Social Media (LATISM) named me one of its “Social Networking Leaders” in 2011 and then again in 2013.  What an honor.

I have to thank all the people who voted for me. In 2013, I was up against some tough competition with a gazillion followers.  My first award in 2011 came as a surprise and so did the one in 2013.

I am not a social networking expert.  I would never make such a claim, because social media changes every day.  But I am very active on several social media platforms.

LATISM recognized me for my work with Wise Latinas Linked.  In 2009, I formed the group with the help of  Vicki Adame and Sandra Gonzalez.  I realized there wasn’t really a social networking group for Latinas on Facebook or Linkedin.com.  Now we are more than 7000 plus members strong.  Our goal was to have a place where Latinas could get free information about anything and everything.

I’m very proud that Wise Latinas Linked has been featured in USA Today and the EFE News Service (Spanish).
